First off, I must state that I have not used TA for trading decisions and my knowledge of TA is close to zero. In other words, I have no strong views either way about the validity or effectiveness of TA.

Trawling through forums, I have found intelligent voices I respect, who subscribe to TA. This has piqued my curiosity about TA. I am still happy with non-directional trading, but it is always a plus to be open minded and to learn.

My question is this:
What was the single most significant argument that convinced you that TA is an effective direction forecasting tool?

Still yet to be convinced. Figure you can let yourself be convinced of anything if you want to believe, much prefer to use TA indicators as a way of forming an hypothesis but do not put any faith in it or my hard earned.

I like the "hypothesis" hypothesis.

I don't ascribe any predictive value at all to TA. It's a coin toss. But it does allow you to create a hypothesis with boundaries telling you whether your hypothesis is right or wrong.
